COMMITTEES

ATTENDANCE
Chairperson: Jessica Whitney
The committee handles the meeting accommodations and registration, tracks members RSVP’s, corresponds with the hotel, prepares ID badges, reconciles attendance, collects dinner fees and coordinates with the Treasurer for the dinner meeting deposit.

BLOCK KIDS
Chairperson: Michelle Dinan-Cardone
The Block Kids building contest is a national competition sponsored by the NAWIC Education Foundation. The committee coordinates a local Block Kids building contest where children in grades 1 – 6 have one hour to build a construction project using 100 interlocking building blocks. During the event activities and displays feature the many benefits and career opportunities in the construction industry to inform children and their parents.

BYLAWS
Chairperson: 
This committee prepares proposed annual Chapter Standing Rules and Chapter Guidelines for the Board to consider. Once adopted the Chair submits the documents to the NAWIC Bylaws Chairman for review. During the year the Bylaws Chair analyses circulated proposed Bylaws changes and advised the Board on the effect and impact of the changes.

CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
Chairperson: 
This committee sponsors industry related activities and functions beneficial to the construction industry and community. We’ve participated in the all “Women Build’ home” by Habitat for Humanity and Make a Difference Day. Many of our chapter current committees fall under Construction Industry including Arizona Construction Career Days and Metro Tech.

GRANTS
Chairperson: Kathy Kingsland
This committee is responsible for coordinating with the Arizona Community Foundation (ACF) who gathers applications from qualified Junior / Senior students enrolled in construction-related programs at local (AZ) universities and vocational schools, and recommends recipients for our Chapter grants. Funding for these grants are generated from our Red Rose Bowling Tournament and other donations.

HEALTH & SAFETY
Chairperson: 
The committee keeps the membership updated on all health and safety issues that affect the industry.

MEMBERSHIP
Chairperson: Ramona Gallo
This committee is responsible for recruiting, welcoming and retaining members.

NAWIC EDUCATION
Chairperson: 
This committee promotes, publicizes and coordinates testing for the various education programs sponsored by NEF (NAWIC Education Foundation).

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION
Chairperson: Linda Austin
This committee is responsible for planning the guest speakers for our monthly meetings, coordinating educational seminars and jobsite tours.

PUBLICITY
Chairperson: Alisha Oliver
This committee is responsible for promoting the meetings and various chapter activities through press releases and other media coverage.

RED ROSE BOWLING TOURNAMENT
Chairperson: 
This committee coordinates our annual bowling tournament, which is our major fundraising activity for the year. The proceeds from our tournament go into our Endowment Fund, which provides grants to students pursuing a career in the construction industry.

WAYS & MEANS
Chairperson: 
This committee is responsible for raising money for the chapter by holding monthly raffles and other misc. fundraising activities.

WEBSITE
Chairperson: Alisha Oliver
This committee is responsible for updating the website and should work on getting chapter information on the site.

WICWEEK 
Chairperson: Carol Hagen 
This committee is responsible for coordinating events during the first full week in March (March 7-13, 2021) to celebrate Women in Construction Week! #WICWEEK2021 See Events Page for all the activities!
